Why did I start vlogging ?

It was three years ago and we were going to Vegas. Every trip we go on I take a multitude of photos and I thought, "this is the 3rd time we're going and I've got enough photos of the Bellagio Fountains so what can I do....".

We have always watched a lot of YouTube, in particular people like Tim Tracker (Orlando Vlogs), Brian Christopher (Slot Machines) and the Godfather of UK Vegas Vlogs - Matt Bridger.

The penny then dropped. Why don't I vlog our trips?

As I'd never done anything like this before I filmed as much as possible with around 1 hour of bloopers for every 10 minutes of usable footage. I was uncomfortable in front of the camera, I fluffed lines and basically winged it.

I edited it, put it on YouTube and thought that if it's a bit crap it doesn't matter as it was more for myself and my family but then something strange and unexpected happened. People started watching and commenting on my videos. What helped was the amazing Vegas fan community around the world and people like Matt Bridger and the Vegas Club recommending watching little old me.

In a world where social media can be a cesspool of negativity, this shining light of positivity was exactly what I needed. I was struggling with my mental health and our life was under a lot of upheaval so this was very much needed and appreciated.

There is so much that happened after that but I won't bore you now, I'll save that for some blog posts.

Ta ra a bit.......
